Testing the engine

After cleaning the carburetor, we went ahead and borrowed the battery from the Tikarol's Pajero and Mansu went ahead to regap the spark plugs - they were quite worn at about 1.0 mm gaps. Contact point was all oxidized and dirty so that was removed and cleaned. Set static timing at about 5 degree ATDC. After a few tries and priming the carb with a few squirts of gas...

Well... as you can see and hear, engine seems to work fine. The fears of the former owner seems might not have been true after all. Although remaining dirt in the fuel line and filter must have fouled up the carb enricher and cant open throttle too quickly on the engine. Need to reopen carb up and clean/check.
